Lloyd Says He Told Chris Brown To Cry During BET Awards Performance

Chris Brown’s performance (which was a tribute to Michael Jackson) during the 2010 BET Awards on Sunday shocked viewers when he started to cry during the end of his set. Some people applauded Brown for his performance, while others criticized him and questioned the authenticity of his actions. Lloyd says he told the singer that he had to “really show his heart out to the world” and cry. Check out the video of Lloyd making the statement to Rap-Up at the 3:19 mark (after the break).

Apple Sells 1.7 Million iPhone 4 in Opening Weekend

Apple announced that it has sold over 1.7 million of its iPhone 4 through Saturday, June 26, just three days after its launch on June 24. “This is the most successful product launch in Apple’s history,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “Even so, we apologize to those customers who were turned away because we did not have enough supply.” iPhone 4 is available in the US for a suggested retail price of $199 (US)* for the 16GB model and $299 (US) for the 32GB model in both Apple and AT&T’s retail and online stores, Best Buy, Radio Shack and Wal-Mart stores.

McDonalds France New Commercial Causes a Stir…

McDonalds France released a gay-themed advertisement that is causing a stir around the globe. The advertisement uses the slogan “Come As You Are” which is, according to a McDonald’s spokesperson, meant to “recognize the diversity of McDonald’s customers in France.” Some groups are questioning the rationale behind the ad, while others are applauding it.

DJ X-Rated is one of the most influential DJs in the country. If you didn’t know, DJ X-Rated is the main DJ at one of the premier strip clubs in Atlanta called Magic City, and he also DJ’s at Strokers, Kamaal 21, and Stacks (formerly the Body Tap). In Atlanta, the strip club scene is known as the the place to “break” new music by A&Rs, artists, etc. For more information, see the following spotlight on MTV.

DJ X-Rated is well known for breaking new music in the Atlanta music scene, and has DJ’ed at every major strip club in Atlanta including Magic City, Strokers, Body Tap, Kamaal 21, Pin Ups, Blue Flame, etc.  He has helped to break new records in Atlanta by several artists including Travis Porter (“Go Shorty Go”), Roscoe Dash (“All The Way Turnt Up”), D4L (“Laffy Taffy”), Young Jeezy (Trap or Die Mixtape), T.I. (“I’m Serious”), Yung Joc (“It’s Going Down”), Soulja Boy (“Crank Dat!”), Snoop Dogg (“Sexual Seduction”), T-Pain (“I’m In Love With A Stripper”), Waka Flocka Flame (“O Let’s Do It” and “Hard In The Paint”), Alley Boy, etc. Several of the major rap artists (Young Jeezy, etc.) have mentioned DJ X-Rated in their songs and choose the strip club venues as a place to promote their new music and find new talent.

Does LaLa's shut down mean iTunes streaming launch?

If you didn’t know, Apple recently acquired LaLa’s streaming music service, and there were rumors that Apple did so in order to start a streaming music service of its own integrated into iTunes. As of today, Apple announced that LaLa will shut down beginning May 31st and all credits will be converted to iTunes credits. This could mean that a streaming iTunes launch is on the way. I guess we’ll see. via Gizmodo.
