DJ Feature: DJ Hevan

Who is DJ Hevan? He is a Boston-based celebrity DJ who spins in many of the city’s most popular nightclubs, special events, and major concerts. He has shared the stage with high profile artists such as Lady Gaga, Kanye West, Nas, Gangstarr, Asher Roth, Jim Jones, Fabolous, among others and has spun at events for Vida Guerra, DMC (of Run-DMC), David Ortiz and the Boston Red Sox, Paul Pierce and the Boston Celtics, and the New England Patriots. Stuff Magazine has noted that DJ Hevan is “Boston’s undeniable mixmaster party pleaser [and] has an arsenal of hot joints that are sure to get just about everybody high.” DJ Hevan recently guest-DJ’ed on BBC Radio 1’s show “In DJ’s We Trust” with DJ Jaguar Skillz.  Also, DJ Hevan has launched a new lifestyle blog, DJ Haven’s “Pick of the Week” that serves as a platform to showcase new and favorite products, services, and music.

The next time you are in the Massachusetts area, you can hear him spin at The Boiler Room in Worcester, MA, The Greatest Bar in Boston (every other Friday), Saint and Whiskey Park Lounge in the Plaza Hotel (every other Saturday), The Ocean Club (Sundays), and “Industry Mondays” at the Wonder Bar (Mondays).

Ozone Magazine Issue #84 – DJ Booth: DJ Burn One

via Ozone. DJ Burn One is a good friend of mine who also happens to be a DJ/producer. He has released several classic mixtapes including Gucci Mane’s Chicken Talk, Pill’s Prescription 4180, and Yelawolf’s Trunk Muzik. I consider him to be a tastemaker because I’ve been discovering artists through his mixtapes and his blog for years. In addition to DJ’ing, Burn One is a dope producer. Ozone Magazine Issue #83 – DJ Booth: DJ X-Rated

DJ X-Rated is one of the most influential DJs in the country. If you didn’t know, DJ X-Rated is the main DJ at one of the premier strip clubs in Atlanta called Magic City, and he also DJ’s at Strokers, Kamaal 21, and Stacks (formerly the Body Tap). In Atlanta, the strip club scene is known as the the place to “break” new music by A&Rs, artists, etc. For more information, see the following spotlight on MTV.

DJ X-Rated is well known for breaking new music in the Atlanta music scene, and has DJ’ed at every major strip club in Atlanta including Magic City, Strokers, Body Tap, Kamaal 21, Pin Ups, Blue Flame, etc.  He has helped to break new records in Atlanta by several artists including Travis Porter (“Go Shorty Go”), Roscoe Dash (“All The Way Turnt Up”), D4L (“Laffy Taffy”), Young Jeezy (Trap or Die Mixtape), T.I. (“I’m Serious”), Yung Joc (“It’s Going Down”), Soulja Boy (“Crank Dat!”), Snoop Dogg (“Sexual Seduction”), T-Pain (“I’m In Love With A Stripper”), Waka Flocka Flame (“O Let’s Do It” and “Hard In The Paint”), Alley Boy, etc. Several of the major rap artists (Young Jeezy, etc.) have mentioned DJ X-Rated in their songs and choose the strip club venues as a place to promote their new music and find new talent.
