The new single from Made Entertainment’s SL Jones called “Famous (To The Beat)” is currently heating up in the clubs/streets. The song was produced by Marvelous J and apparently won the past few nights on the Battlegrounds on Atlanta’s 107.9 . I’ve also included their song “I’m Str8” produced by Supa Ced. New N.E.R.D. album slated for later this year (Summer 2010). Check out the video where Pharrell talks about his daily life and the new album. Supposedly this album went through several changes, wherein they included a new female group member Rhea, and then they decided to go with the original lineup of just Pharrell, Chad, and Shay.
New record off of Young Jeezy’s upcoming mixtape with Don Cannon, “Trap or Die 2”. This project is the follow up to Young Jeezy’s critically acclaimed mixtape, Trap or Die, with DJ Drama. via MTV News – Asher Roth and Pharrell linked up in Miami and have already recorded 12 songs, some of which, will end up on Asher’s new upcoming album. Pharrell is also hard at work on the new N.E.R.D. album as well as the new project from Compton rapper The Game, both slated for later this year. Check out the video after the jump.
Legendary rap artist Keith Elam, p/k/a Guru (of Gangstarr) passed away on Monday (4/19) after a lengthy battle with cancer at the young age of 43. Guru’s recent manager, Solar, expressed his condolences in the following statement: “The world has lost one of the best MCs and Hip-Hop icons of all-time — my loyal best friend, partner, and brother, Guru. Guru has been battling cancer for well over a year and has lost his battle! This is a matter that Guru wanted private until he could beat it, but tragically, this did not happen. The cancer took him. Now the world has lost a great man and a true genius.” Solar also posted a letter that Guru supposedly wrote in his final days explaining his disease, his non-profit organization, and some surprising final words for DJ Premier.
