Anantara Kihavah Villas unique underwater restaurant, Sea, is part of a quartet of culinary experiences aptly named Sea, Fire, Salt and Sky — each with its distinctive cuisine, atmosphere and location.

Sea offers Mediterranean buffet lunches and a degustation dinner with stunning views of the sea life in the channel. Sea is also a wine cellar stocked with 250 labels representing 14 countries, and serving more than 20 labels by the glass.

The luxury resort is located on Kihavah Huravalhi Island in the Maldives, half an hour by seaplane from the Male International Airport. Made from a thick sheet of glass inserted between the two tile walls, it’s so simple, yet I’ve never seen anything quite like it.” “Boston-based architecture and design firm Stern McCafferty created this custom bath based on an inspiration photo from owners Amy and Ethan d’Abelmont Burnes. They gut-renovated their South End rowhouse when they bought the property next door and decided to combine them. The couple wanted an open and modern sanctuary, and this tub definitely fits in with that aesthetic.” – Apartment Theory

Only In Japan: Spherical Drone Spyball

A video of a flying spherical reconnaissance drone developed by Japan’s military – the device makes for quite a spectacle. Video below.

The unit officially goes under the prosaic name of “spherical flight vehicle,” having been developed as a prototype miniature drone.

It is 42cm in diameter, 350g in weight and can fly for some 8 minutes, being capable of reaching speeds of 60km/h. Autopilot systems are said to be under development.

Interestingly, the developers report “buying most of the parts in Akihabara.”
