Ghost Ants Change Color According To The Foods They Eat

Ghost ants, scientifically known as tapinoma melanocephalum feed on various sweets. Their abdomens are transparent, and therefore you can see the food they eat in full color. Pretty cool. Indian scientist Mohamed Babu concocted sweet, syrupy, and brightly colored sugar drops, and photographed these ants as they ate. Read more about these ants here. More photos after the break.
