So, I’ve been following the group, Travis Porter, for quite some time now. With a slew of hit singles including “All The Way Turnt Up”, “Upside Down”, “Go Shorty Go”, “Make It Rain”, etc, it was only a matter of time before they signed a major record deal. Check out the official press release after the break.

New York, NY– The newly signed Atlanta-based rap trio Travis Porter has landed a record deal with Jive Records.

Travis Porter (comprised of Strap, Quez and Ali) has used their independent status to develop creative grass roots marketing campaigns enabling them to tour domestically and internationally, and their hard work has paid off: their new single, “Make It Rain” is currently Top 50 on Billboard’s Hot 100 Singles chart.  The group has successfully created a respectable fan base and generated a buzz that ultimately led to the Jive Records signing.

“We’re extremely excited with our new label home” said Travis Porter. “It’s good to see our dedication to music and the help of our loyal fan base worked in our favor. We really owe it to God, our fans, families and unstoppable team. They all made our dreams possible. Now, it’s time to work. We’ll celebrate when the time is right.”

“The first time I saw them, I knew they could be a cultural phenomenon,” said Jeffrey Sledge, VP of A&R for Jive Records.  “They have a following of kids of all ethnicities and Travis Porter is more than just music, they are a movement. We’re proud to have them join the Jive roster.”

Since the 20-year-olds signed, they’ve been working hard to create music that will place them in their own lane. Just as their iconic predecessors, they plan to create a genre of music that is fun and embraces their character.
