If you didn’t know… I am from Virginia. I grew up around the Supafriendz (Mad Skillz, DanjaMowf, Lonnie B, Kalonji the Immortal, Lil Roc, etc), the Infectious Organisms, Disorganized Union, D’angelo, Trey Songz, Teddy Riley, Blackstreet, The Clipse, The Neptunes, Nottz, Timbaland, Missy, Nicole Wray, etc. Needless to say, I have a special affinity for the music that comes out of Virginia. Here’s one of the records from VA Beach and Star Trak artist, Fam-Lay, off of the Neptunes’ compilation entitled Clones. Check it out.
Up-and-coming producers/artists, Christian Rich, team up with Clinton Sparks, Mick Boogie, Billionaire Boys Club, and Ice Cream to release their first mixtape, The Decadence. All songs are written and produced by Christian Rich members Kehinde Hassan and Taiwo Hassan. If you remember, I posted the videos to some very dope records by this group a while back called “Famous Girl” and “Hello Virgin.” These songs are also available on this mixtape. New single from The Game produced by Pharrell Williams called “It Must Be Me.” It has a 90s hip hop vibe to it… I’m not sure if I love this record, but it’s starting to grow on me.
