The “Rock the Bells” tour this year is going to be epic for anyone who is a 90s hip hop fan. It includes several of the elite hip hop artists performing their classic albums in their entirety. Check out the list (among others): ATCQ performing “Midnight Marauders,” Wu-Tang Clan performing “Enter the 36 Chambers,” Rakim performing “Paid in Full,” KRS-One performing “Criminal Minded,” Slick Rick performing “The Great Adventures Of,” Snoop Dogg performing “Doggystyle,” a Guru tribute by DJ Premier, and a performance by Ms. Lauryn Hill who will be performing “a unique set prepared exclusively for Rock the Bells, featuring songs from her critically acclaimed album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill spanning through her work with The Fugees and more.” – URB. R.I.P. Guru of Gangstarr

Legendary rap artist Keith Elam, p/k/a Guru (of Gangstarr) passed away on Monday (4/19) after a lengthy battle with cancer at the young age of 43. Guru’s recent manager, Solar, expressed his condolences in the following statement: “The world has lost one of the best MCs and Hip-Hop icons of all-time — my loyal best friend, partner, and brother, Guru. Guru has been battling cancer for well over a year and has lost his battle! This is a matter that Guru wanted private until he could beat it, but tragically, this did not happen. The cancer took him. Now the world has lost a great man and a true genius.” Solar also posted a letter that Guru supposedly wrote in his final days explaining his disease, his non-profit organization, and some surprising final words for DJ Premier.
