"The Office" Needs A New Boss… Will It Be Pam Halpert?

without comments

via Entertainment Weekly.

Margaret Lyons says: “With Steve Carell’s impending departure on The Office, all eyes are on the World’s Best Boss mug. Who’s going to take up the scepter as the head of Dunder-Mifflin’s Scranton branch? I’m pulling for Kelly to take the top spot, Mindy Kaling is rooting for Dwight to take the top spot, but there’s a petition afoot to Promote Pam. Iiiiiiinteresting.

Mrs. Halpert is the most emotionally intelligent staffer, able to communicate effectively with the various factions of crazyfolk that make DMHQ so fantastic, but she’s a bit underqualified in the sales department. Plotwise, though, I’d love to see the once-meek Pam inherit the earth paper company, especially because it would give her and Jim something to talk about other than parenthood.

Of the current cast members, whom would you promote, PopWatchers? Or are you hoping for some fresh faces, like David Cross or Michael Emerson?”

Steve Carell Leaving 'The Office'

without comments

via E Online. Steve Carell planning on leaving The Office!?!@ NOoooOooOo!!!!! So, apparently, Steve Carell will be leaving the show after the coming 2010-2011 season.

“I just think it’s time,” Steve says. “I want to fulfill my contract. When I first signed on I had a contract for seven seasons, and this coming year is my seventh. I just thought it was time for my character to go.” According to Steve, The Office could go on without him. “It doesn’t certainly mean the end of the show. I think it’s just a dynamic change to the show, which could be a good thing, actually. Add some new life and some new energy…I see it as a positive in general for the show.”

Does anyone really think The Office can survive without Steve Carell?

New "Thundercats" Animated Series Slated for 2011

with 8 comments

via aintitcoolnews. Looks like everything is coming full circle… I don’t know if it’s just because I’m older… but the cartoons these days pale in comparison to the ones we grew up with (Transformers, G.I. Joe, Voltron, Thundercats, etc). There are some exceptions: Avatar: The Last Airbender, Iron Man: The Animated Series, etc. I’m glad they are reviving the older shows. Anyways, Warner Bros Animation will be launching a new Thundercats TV series on the Cartoon Network in 2011. Check out the full press release after the break.
