I just met Wale last night in ATL, so I figured I’d post his most recent single “Pretty Girls” featuring Gucci Mane and Weensey off of his debut album Attention: Deficit. I definitely like this song! Shout out to Wale and his manager Wes.
Gotta show some home town love since I grew up in Richmond, VA. YahZarah is an R&B artist from the Virginia/D.C. area who is signed to underground hip hop group Foreign Exchange (Phonte of Little Brother + Nicolay). She started out as a back up singer for Erykah Badu and is currently touring with Foreign Exchange. Nicolay, Phonte, and Jesse Boykins III all make cameo appearances in this video off of YahZarah’s album The Ballad of Purple St. James. I think the song is pretty cool, but I like some of her other records more. Uh… the beginning is an ode to the cartoon Jem if you’re wondering what that is. Shout out to my friend Hannah Wagner for sending this over.
Another song from The Kickdrums called “Impatient” off of their debut album Just A Game. The group consists of producer/singer/songwriter Alex Fitts and dj/producer Matt Penttilä who have produced for several artists including Slaughterhouse and 50 Cent.
