Really looking forward to watching this… apparently there have been 2 episodes already. The first one explores compressor diving in the Philippines, the origin of surfing in Hawaii, and the second episode documents a sandstorm in Mali, and fishing in Antogo lake by evaporating water. Check out a video trailer after the break.

Human Planet is an 8-part British television documentary series. It is produced by the BBC with co-production from Discovery and BBC Worldwide. It describes the human species and its relationship with the natural world by showing the remarkable ways humans have adapted to life in every environment on earth.

via superpunch. Surfer Mark Visser surfs at night with a vest covered in LEDs. Check out the video after the break.

“Riding in complete darkness meant I had to go off feeling,” says Visser. “I had to zone out from how you normally ride and just be a part of the wave. I am so pumped to achieve something that no one thought possible and that I was told couldn’t be done.”

Lex Luger Interview with MTV Mixtape Daily

Posted by | Interviews, Music | No Comments

Lex Luger (producer of Rick Ross’ “B.M.F.”, Waka Flocka Flame’s “Hard In Da Paint”, Ace Hood’s “Hustle Hard”, and Kanye West and Jay-Z’s “H.A.M.”) talks with MTV about making beats, his biggest hits so far, etc.

Rick Ross’ “B.M.F. (Blowin’ Money Fast)”: “To take something that a lot of people thought was nothing and to turn it into another dimension of sound was crazy to me,” Luger said. “The reaction from people that I saw was crazy to me. That’s when I really knew this is what I wanted to do.”

Waka Flocka Flame’s “Hard In Da Paint”: Luger said he was in Atlanta the first time he heard it. “I don’t listen to the radio or go out that much; I just work,” he explained. “When I got to Atlanta, I think I was on the way back from the airport and my boy turned on the radio. My boy was like, ‘Yeah, this is it.’ I said, ‘Turn it up,’ and it felt crazy.”

Jay-Z and Kanye West’s “H.A.M.”: ” ‘H.A.M.’ really came about in New York City. Me and Kanye, we had did ‘See Me Now.’ I played him a lot of beats, but he liked the ones that I didn’t expect him to like. I left, like, eight beats with him; he called me, like, two weeks later and he said he wanted, for sure, two. That was one of the ones. … I sent him the track out. He did what he did to it, still I didn’t hear the song. I couldn’t hear it until everyone else heard it. Working with Kanye was crazy. I can’t really explain it. He’s a perfectionist. He has to have everything perfect and out the ordinary, 10 times greater than everything. He’s a crazy guy, but he’s fire.”

Only In Japan: Light-Up LED Teeth

Posted by | Only In Japan | No Comments

What is the newest fashion trend in Japan? LED teeth attachments… What do they do? They glow when you smile, change colors, and make an electric “buzz” when they light up. It’s a party in your mouth! See them in action after the break.

The new fashion accessories were originally created as an experiment by two Japanese designers and are now being used in a commercial advertising a winter sale at a Japanese clothing store, Laforet Harajuku. They are quickly becoming a sought after accessory.
The LED smiles can easily be affixed to your teeth and glow different colors while you smile. The colors can be changed wirelessly through a computer interface.

Mr. Ishibashi and Daito Manabe, the other designer and technologist on the project, are offering workshops in Japan showing people how to build their own LED smiles.
